update

i can't believe that is already june. where has this year gone? i feel like so much has happened already and i know its only the beginning! in october we will be making a huge adjustment in welcoming a new baby boy to our family! its still crazy to me that we are having a baby. even though i can feel him moving around all the time in my continually growing belly, i cant help but think that there is some sort of alien moving around in me. haha. although it is an indescribable feeling. needless to say i'm super excited!

fenway got sprayed

fenway got sprayed by a skunk. not good. he got sprayed while he was having a sleepover at the hendrickson's house. they were watching him while we were in lake powell. poor fenski has had literally 8 baths since this happened. im sure he hates them now. ken was nice enough to wash him a few times which got most of the smell out but there was still the hidden smell that we needed to get rid of. so when we got home from lake powell at 11pm, jimmy spent the next couple hours soaking him with this baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap mixture to try and get the smell out. most of the smell is gone but there is a small stench still lurking haha. poor pooch!

lake powell

a couple weeks ago, jimmy and i were able to get some time off work to go on the annual lake powell trip. we were so excited for this small time off! little did i know that it was going to be one of the longest drives EVER! it really wasnt that long but i think the anticipation to be there was huge! the weather couldn't have been more perfect! we were sad that jen and caroline werent able to be there this year, they were surely missed! we also give a big thanks to the mecham family for letting us stay on their house boat and to the faber's for letting us use their ski boat! without the two, the trip just wouldn't have been that enjoyable! this year, my sister abbie was able to come though. i really enjoyed having her there and being able to spend time with her! she is a hardcore wake-boarder as you can see from the pictures! :] i hope that she had as much fun as we did!

summer is already over?

summer flew by this year. probably because we were driving from place to place! our first vacation of the summer was going to seattle where we were lucky enough to see my good friends jess and kirk get married in the seattle temple. it was so fun to be there with them as they start out on their own journey.

our next stop was coeur d'alene idaho where jimmy's grandpa lives. it was so much fun spending time with him. he loved to tell us stories. :) one of the nights we were there, we went to a theme park called silverwood. it was so much fun. the rides were awesome! way better than lagoon. haha. one of the rides had a shop at the end and had all this crazy stuff in it...

then we went up to canada and spent some time at fort steel. it was so much fun being with lyal! our next trip was to san diego with the faber family and dustin! while we were there we went to a padres game and also we went to the beach where the guys learned to surf. it was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone, we miss dustin and the fabers a lot! it was awesome watching them surf. i didnt attempt it due to the water temperature. ya right! but they were troops and all of them got up on a couple waves...

the event that gave us the excuse to head to san diego was for jimmys childhood buddy's wedding. it was awesome to be there to see them get married! we are so greatful that they remembered to include us in their big day!

july the 4th

this year for the 4th of july we went up to the correy's cabin near duck creek. little did we know that practically the whole state of nevada goes to duck creek for the 4th. it was a mad house! but it was so much fun to be up there with all our friends. we got up there on saturday afternoon and we met the hendrickson family at mammoth caves. i didnt attempt to go into the cave because i am not so much a fan of tight spaces that i have to fit myself through. no thanks! the first night that we were up there we all just hung around and talked until it was dark and then went to bed. as jimmy and i were getting into bed i noticed that there were a ton of moths inside the cabin near the window we were sleeping under. i hate bugs. so i hurried and got ready for bed in the pitch black because if i were to turn on a flashlight the moths would come near me! haha. but sure enough i forgot to grab my sweatshirt in my bag so i had to turn on the light to find it again. im sure you can just guess what happens next....yep a moth. everyone else was trying to fall asleep and i started freaking out. as i normally would if there was any sort of bug touching me. luckily i didnt scream i dont think. but i did have a hard time falling asleep thinking of where that moth was and if i would wake up to it on my face. haha. i really need to get over my fear of bugs cause its ridiculous. anyway, we went fishing a couple times on this trip. one trip to mammoth creek, then to panguitch reservoir and of course to duck creek. it was so much fun being up in the mountains. its so peaceful and calm. although i dont think i would make a very good full-time mountain woman. :]

coral pink

ok so i feel like there is so much to blog about! a couple weekends ago, a bunch of people from the neighborhood got together to go 4 wheelin. we drove about 2 hours to what are called the coral pink sand dunes. when we got there i looked around for large heeping piles of sand but didnt see any i only saw sagebrush and trees. weird i thought. so we unloaded the rzr and all started off on this trail. sure enough it was all sand! it was so much fun but if you were riding to close to the person in front of you, you could pretty much count on eating some sand. gross. the trail that we were on was really cool, there was one part where we had to cross this river a bunch of times. we got drenched. jimmy though it was a good idea to go really fast through it. not so much. there was water everywhere! it was cold at first but as we kept riding it felt good in the summer heat. at the end of this trail was a small town that we went and ate lunch at. carmel junction i think. :] but the funny thing was that to get to the resturant we had to go through a golf course. yep there were for sure golfers out golfing that we all drove by with our rumbling 4 wheelers. sooo funny!
